Time Flies When You're Having Fun!

Luke and I's three year anniversary was on August 22. We were in Bend during that time so we were able to pawn off the kid for a while so that we could take ourselves out to dinner that night. During the day though, we didn’t really have much planned so we decided to try something that Luke did on his mission.

Ear candles anyone?

The whole idea is that the heat causes the wax in your ear to melt and somehow – I don’t know how, I’ll be honest – the wax gets drawn up into the candle and your ears feel squeaky clean and ear wax free!
*You cut off the burned part of the candle and unroll it to get out the wax so you can be grossed out by what was in your ears. Sorry that it's blurry - you've probably noticed we're not expert picture takers.*

It was an interesting experience; one I will probably repeat because my ears really did feel cleaner.

*The thin pieces of wax are Luke’s. The bigger pieces are mine which is embarrassing because I clean my ears with a Q-tip every time I get out of the shower. (I can just see my grandmother reading this and saying “I told you Breanna, my ear doctor said you should never stick a Q-tip in your ear! It doesn’t clean it; it just pushes the ear wax back in your ear and makes it so it builds up and then you can’t hear.”)*

I am so glad that I am married to my very best friend – Arvel Luke Mecham!
He makes me so happy!
He loves the Gospel.
He makes me laugh every day.
He sings to me.
He is 100% dedicated to our family and helping us progress.
He even does the dishes!
He is very handsome.
He is really good at putting the baby to sleep.
He goes above and beyond what is asked of him (people can always count on him for that).
He is romantically inclined.
He is the most service oriented person I know.
He will cheerfully go on silly adventures with me – like to go and try to find a swimsuit in September – even when I can tell he really doesn’t want to.
He knows movie quotes.
He is a great dad.
He loves my family – sometimes more than I do.
He is a worthy Priesthood holder.
He eats whatever I cook.
He is a great kisser.
He likes to read books (out loud, together as a couple).
He is original.
He snuggles me.
He listens to me ramble – I can talk to him about anything.

I could go on and on! I really did get myself quite the catch of a husband!

I LOVE YOU LUKE! I can’t wait for the rest of eternity! If it is anything like the last three years (which I am sure it’s going to be even better, because time gives everything more character) it is going to be FANTASTIC!

*3 years later*

*What we usually look like...unposed.*
