(All right all you Idahonians/Idahoans, I know it is SUPER cold where you live, and you would think that I would remember and I do, but I have tried to block Idaho cold from my memory, all I can cope with now is California cold.)
A week or so ago I woke Luke up in the middle of the night to go get our down comforter from the closest - which has my favorite duvet cover on it - because I was freezing and snuggling with Luke just wasn't cutting it. He's such a good husband because he braved the cold, walked a whole ten feet to the hallway and brought back the comforter and put it on the bed. (*Sigh* My HERO!) We were soon very toasty.
Confession: Duvet covers make me feel classy.
An hour later, Aslynn woke up crying (which isn't rare but it isn't a common occurrence, either). Luke got up out of bed to go check on her. As he left I told him to put an extra blanket on her because she might be cold, too. When he got back into bed he told me he didn't think she was cold but he left the extra blanket on the edge of the crib just in case.
When Aslynn woke up the next morning and called me into her room to get her out of bed, I found her in the far corner of her crib - as far away as she could get from the blanket Luke had draped over the railing.
Aslynn: "Mom!!! Bad guy! NO! NO! NO blanket! Scary! MOM! No blanket! BAD GUY! Scary!"
Below is a snapshot of said "Bad-guy-scary-no-blanket."
Oh, Luke; what are we going to do with you?
Now whenever Z sees the blanket in the house she tells me the same thing she did in her crib and calls me to come and take it away. She won't go anywhere near it.
