Getting Bigger

Aslynn is 1 month old today! It doesn’t seem like it’s been a month; a week maybe, but not a month. Lack of sleep has made me lose track of time. Speaking of lack of sleep, if anyone knows how to make a baby sleep in her own bed, let me know.

Let’s see here…not much to report. Aslynn has been taking her pacifier more and more which is nice for us because when she thinks she’s hungry and she’s really not (she wants to do is “nurse” herself to sleep) we just give her the bink and she goes to sleep without the unnecessary harm to my nipples.
*Aslynn's second week of Church wearing a headband that Becky made her and an outfit that used to be mine. The sweater is a little big - I had to roll up the sleeves - but she still looks cute. Obviously, she's very excited about the thought of attending Church - kinda reminds me of the High Council men. Just Kidding!*

She’s also figured out that if she cries loud enough for an extended period of time and if she hits a high enough pitch someone will come and pick her up. She even stops crying and looks around for a few seconds to see if anyone is coming to get her and if she can’t see anyone she starts up again. Of course she immediately stops crying once someone does pick her up. We call this her “FAKER” cry. So most of the time we wait it out and she stops crying and realizes that she’s really okay because Luke and I are at least in the room with her.

Ben, Melina and Arianna came to visit over the long weekend. It was a lot of fun to have them all here. We had fun playing games and visiting.

Luke and I love having company but we figured out that we need to get a bigger apartment or at least reorganize the furniture if we are going to have two babies in the house; there just isn’t enough room.
*Only she can get him to smile this way*

Aslynn’s nose was stuffed up last night and no amount of bulb suctioning could clear it out. She didn’t sleep well. She’s used to breathing out her nose so she would fall asleep for a few minutes and then try to suck in a lot of air through her nose and wouldn’t be able to so it would wake her up and she would whine and cry a little and need someone to cuddle her before she went back to sleep. I slept in 15 minute spurts all night because of this. But I’m perky, can’t you tell?

Luke is still trying to find a job. We would appreciate all the prayers we can get in this matter; I think that we will need it with the way the economy is right now.

Nothing else much going on. I promise to report back when there is something to report back on.

I couldn’t post all the pictures here so there are some new ones on Facebook if you want to check those out.

That last picture is the sweetest picture! We will definitely keep you guys in our prayers. I hope the stuffy nose goes away. Love you!
