*Charlie and Aslynn on a walk in the park.*
We bring our extra plastic bags from grocery shopping as payment because we don’t have a dog so we don’t really belong in a dog park. Dog owners appreciate the plastic bags to pick up poo, so they don’t mind when we wheel in a 13 month old in her stroller and let her sit there with her arms outstretched for a half an hour or so waiting for the dogs to come to her so she can pet them. People are really nice; when they realize that Z actually wants the dogs to come to her, they say things like: “Oh! My dog loves kids!” and they call their dog over to let Z pet it. I love Oregon!
*This was not the best "dog park" day because there wan't very many dogs there.*
It was only a matter of time (after the first dog park visit) before Luke and I got into a heated debate regarding our future canine companion (because we will be getting one, come heck or high water as soon as we have a house, because I think that I might die without an animal in my life).
I have decided that I want a Labradoodle – a labrador crossed with a poodle...
...or a Goldendoodle – a golden retriever crossed with a poodle.
My dog choice is the best. You know why? First of all, just look at those pictures. OH MY GOSH! Are they too cute for words or what?! Second, Labs and Golden Retrievers are great family dogs because of their great dispositions, friendliness, and mellow-ish nature . Third, because of the poodle in them Goldendoodles and Labradoodles coats are hypoallergenic.
Luke wants a Shiba Inu. I won’t lie, these dogs are quite pretty.
They are smaller than my dogs, which could be a plus considering we might not be able to last until we get a house before we get a dog. From what I read, they are more aggressive towards other dogs, harder to train, and have a strong prey drive. Still, Shibas are loyal and affectionate towards the people they know. They also try to keep themselves clean at all costs – even to the extent of housetraining themselves and avoiding puddles, dirt and mud.
Both dogs are expensive. I told Luke that with all the sad, homeless dogs out there, we will be getting a dog from the Humane Society. With that in mind, Luke and I probably won’t ever get the dogs we want.
I will leave you with one last picture...
P.S. Please vote at the top of the page. Just for kicks and giggles. Thank you.

OH dog debates... these are the best :) Goldendoodles are perhaps the cutest things alive, I have to agree. But don't be so sure that they'll be 'hypoallergenic.' Seems like half the time they get the poodle gene and shed very little, and half the time they get the golden gene and shed like crazy. Shiba Inus... they seem finicky to me. Now humane society dogs... those are the best. Pre-trained and so appreciative of a good home. I vote pound puppy :)
Another good thing is that the labradoodle and goldendoodle are really fun names to say!! haha! Thanks for posting about our blog and facebooking it you rock!!!
Those are just about the cutest pictures of dogs!! Well, you will have to get the second best dog from the humane society because rhona is the best dog in the, not to mention the cutest. So I vote the poodle ones are cuter than the other but I would be afraid they would shed a lot. You should definitely get a dog though, so when we live next to each other our dogs will be playmates!
Z's hair is gorgeous!! and that picture of her with a weiney makes my heart melt a little bit...I vote that you get a weiner dog. Z told me thats what she wants.
Did you really use Google Translate on my post!? That's really funny! I try to remember to write everything up in english as well but always forget - sorry!
But I'm glad you're smart and so resourceful!
