I've Got You Babe

Luke has always wanted to make Aslynn a ball pit – just because…he’s Luke. There is NO place to retail shop around our house except for Target; we go there a lot. Luke found these bags of balls for $20, and since we are poor starving grad school students, we didn’t buy them. But then they went on sale for a whopping $3.54 per bag and so Luke bought four bags (with each bag containing 150 balls) of them. He used Aslynn’s birthday money from Grandma Goodie and Grandpa Arvel – so technically, Grandma and Grandpa got Z her ball pit. We bought the kiddie pool to keep everything contained, and we can use it in the summer for its intended purpose of a swimming pool for the munchkin. Aslynn loves her ball pit! She hangs out in there all the time. When people come over, she shows them her ball pit. Sometimes we even get in there with her. We’ve taught her how to bury herself by wiggling. She’s really good about keeping the balls in the pit – if they get knocked out she will go pick them up and throw em’ back in. She’s such a smarty pants!

*These videos were shot as we filled up the pit for the first time.*

Poor kid’s got her mother’s hair. It curls right after she gets out of the bath and within a couple of hours, it is completely flat.
*Ignore my face and look at her curls.*

*"Mom! You take too many pictures!  Please! Stop!*

She LOVES to be outside. We bought some netting and safety-ified the balcony. She asks us to go out there by signing “please” and trying to open the sliding glass door. She knows that she has to have her shoes on and a jacket before she can go outside so putting on those particular clothing items is never a struggle.

She’s AMAZING with her signs now. “Please” and “More” are used many, many times a day. She knew “Thank You” for a couple of weeks but she has recently decided that it isn’t worth it – “You already gave me what I want, why should I have to work for it with a sign?”

She’s talking more and more. She can say: kitty, Jesus, dog, outside, and others that we have heard only once or twice so we can’t count those yet.

*Taking a breather, eating some rocks, all while on a walk at the park.  This girls's got skills.*

Love the video! Love the ball pit. I am going to come and play in it. and I am coming to the zoo and the childrens museum too! We are planning a trip to portland this summer so don't go anywhere! It looks like Luke loves the museum more than Aslynn. I wouldn't be suprised if Luke played in the ball pit more than Aslynn too. The best dad's do though! Aslynn you are so talented! multi-tasking already! so proud of you.
